In December of 2022, our organization ran an amazon holiday drive for the Covenant House of Santa Clara, a compassionate nonprofit dedicated to supporting youth experiencing homelessness. To ensure their comfort and well-being during this special time, we took the initiative to curate a thoughtfully crafted Amazon wishlist that encompassed the specific items requested by the Covenant House. Through our diligent efforts and the generosity of our supporters, we successfully collected donations, enabling us to provide these essential items and bring smiles to the faces of those who needed it the most.
During the Thanksgiving season in 2022, our organization helped the Bay Area Rescue Mission collecting donations for individuals facing homelessness. Through a door-to-door initiative, we gathered blankets, clothes, and other essential items. In the end, the total donations we recieved were valued at around $2000, showing the success of this project. The outpouring of support from our community, special thanks to Rivermark, showcased the power of collective action in making a meaningful impact on the lives of those in need.
KAFPA, the Kinship Adoptive and Foster Parent Association, is a nonprofit that provides resources and aids adoptive and foster parents. During the summer of 2023, I ran a door to door campaign in my community collecting new school supplies to donate to this organization. I collected numerous items including backpacks, pencils, markers, highlighters, erasers, geometry sets, colored pencils, pens, and much more. With the collection of these donations, my organization was able to make a positive impact on the lives of many children in need.
During September and October of 2023, I collected new and gently used costumes that still retained their original packing for children and mostly teens in our community. While many costume drives focus on younger children, teenagers often get overlooked, leaving them with limited options. By this Halloween, I was able to collect 15 costumes along with 5 accessories to donate to older children who were unable to participate in Halloween's festivities this year.
During September and November of 2023, Pranjal collected donations of clothes and sweets for girls in need. She donated them to an orphanage called Santulan which is an organization in Pune, India dedicated to helping those who are impoverished.
During January of 2024, I collected donations to purchase math kits for youth in need. We kicked off the new year with enough funds to buy 20 math kits comprising primarily of scientific calculators for middle/high school students in need. This drive started just 2 weeks ago and was already able to impact the lives of many young people in our communities. I hope to continue this drive all throughout the year and expand it to science kits as well.
During February 2024, our Canada branch donated math supplies, primarily calculators, to Mount Albion Elementary School. Recognizing the importance of nurturing mathematical literacy from a young age, we raised funds from our volunteers and generous community members. We extend our heartfelt appreciation to all contributors for their meaningful impact in supporting the students' educational journey.
During the spring of 2024, our Canada branch raised funds to purchase various art supplies for students at Mount Albion Elementary School. These donations comprised of colored pencils, crayons, construction paper, and many other craft supplies. We sincerely appreciate the efforts of our coordinators in Canada for making this possible.
In June of 2024, we donated a multitude of school supplies to Mount Albion Elementary School. We collected and raised funds for over 2000 items including crayons, colored pencils, pipe cleaners, pom poms, and various other art and school supplies.
In September of 2024, we collected funds to purchase school supplies for Mount Albion Elementary School. We were able to raise funds for over 2000 items including crayons, colored pencils, watercolor paints, and construction paper.
In October of 2024 we collected funds for over 2,000 school supplies including pencils, crayons, colored pencils, and backpacks. We donated these items to Sunnyvale Community Services where Victoria graciously accepted the donations.
